Hi, I’m Brad Umholtz. I have been a DJ with One Stop Disc Jockey Service since 2002. They are a truly great company to work for! I live in South Elgin, IL and have traveled all over the Chicago land area performing events. There aren’t too many places I haven’t played. Being a DJ has been a great experience. I like the fact that I get to play all kinds of music and meet all types of people. I’ve always felt that if you enjoy what you do, you will become very successful at it, and I do. Many people may not realize just how many things a DJ is responsible for, especially at a wedding. I am the first one there and the last to leave. I have to coordinate not only the bride and grooms special request’s, but also with the banquet hall as well as the photographer and videographer. It is my job to make sure everything runs smoothly and on time. I will be there to help organize your bridal party for the introductions and take care of cake cutting announcements as well as the garter and bouquet. Playing all the great dance music is the easy part! I am totally familiar with and enjoy playing all the different genres of music. Everything from the 50’s & 60’s to the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, as well as today’s popular hip-hop. I even have a collection of club music (techno/electronica) for the crowds that enjoy that. I am very good at reading a crowd and providing them with what it will take to keep the dance floor hopping. It’s always very rewarding when you get a thank you from the clients and guests at the end of the night. On many occasions I’ve had people tell me “you’re the best DJ in the world”. Of course I know that isn’t true, but it sure feels good! I’ve also been lucky enough to play for people that use the online planning site called “The Knot”, which has really helped get my name out there.
