Here are a few Frequently Asked Questions about reserving your date, making deposit and payments, music selections, etc. You are welcome to call as well! We'll answer your questions without a lot of high pressure to sign up! We have many DJs to choose from including those which are bilingual.

Q: When Should I Actually "Book a DJ" for My Event?
A: People trust our DJ Service.
Please book early, especially if you wish to have a particular DJ.

To order services from One Stop, you need to first contact our representatives to check the availability of your date and the price for the number of hours you wish to have a DJ.

Simply contact us by telephone, or email us and we'll be glad to send you a free portfolio and DVD to show you our services and what our disc jockeys and parties look like.

Within the package we send you, there will also be a contract, a personality profile and a bridal formalities sheet, (which includes your special music selections for two or three special dances at the beginning of your dance time). To reserve your date and you will need to fill out and sign these forms and then send back to us ASAP with your deposit.


Q: Will My Date Be Reserved Because I Call or Email?
A: We are a popular Chicago Area DJ Service.
Please understand, that we cannot complete your order and lock in your event date, until we have actually received your deposit and signed contract.

Upon receipt of your deposit, ($100-$195), signed contract, and personality profile, we positively lock in and reserve your event date. Your song list and bridal formalities sheets are not due until 30 days beforehand.


Q: Will You Guarantee All My Songs Will Be Played?
A: Returning Your Song List On Time is Important.
Please understand, it takes our DJs time to prepare your special music.

After receiving your deposit and signed contract, (locking in your event date), we'll then mail you a song list, and (if you are  getting married), a CD sampler of 75 of the most often requested songs for special dances and bridal activities. The song list represents hundreds of songs most often requested.

There is a limited amount of time during your reception, (5 hours typically), and approximately 17 songs can be played per hour. The Cocktail and Dinner will consume approximately 2-1/2 hours of time and there are some excellent tunes we have on our Cocktail Music and Dinner Music section of our song list. to choose from. There is typically 2 to 2-1/2 hours of actual dance time, which is an estimated 45 songs, (more or less), to dance to. These are the most popular dance tunes on our song list to choose from. Considering that your DJ will likely get 10-15 requests for music to play from your guests during that time, that would technically leave you with approximately 30 songs to dance to. When filling in your music selection form, (which needs to be returned no less than 30 days in advance of event), it is suggested that you select and/or suggest a total of 45-75 "dance" songs for your event, (please note that due to time restrictions, it's likely that not all of these will get actual play time).


Q: Does My Deposit Alone Guarantee DJ Services?
A: Deposit & Contract Guarantees There Will Be a DJ...
Please understand, that your deposit and contract only reserve your date, ensuring that you will have a DJ at your event. We cannot proceed with the event services however, unless balance is paid in full, in advance.

50% of our clientele make their final payment at their event when the DJ  arrives, provide a credit card the week of their event, or mail a check in at  least two weeks beforehand. If you choose to mail your final balance, it must be mailed at least 2 weeks  prior to your event date. If you wish to play your final balance at your event location, on the day of your event, you may do so, but payment  must be presented when the DJ arrives. 


Q: How Do I Choose a DJ? Do You or I Choose?
A: Our Goal is to Provide a DJ your guests will enjoy.
We assign our disc jockeys based on a combination of considerations including distance from your event, kind of music (ages considered here), and the amount of personality, or interaction, you wish the DJ to have.

Unless notified by us, your assigned or requested DJ will indeed be provided for your event. If due to certain circumstances your assigned or requested DJ cannot perform at your event as indicated, we will attempt to notify you with a phone call and letter. Herein lies the value of being with a disc jockey service, with multiple DJs, rather than booking your event with an individual DJ employing just himself.


Q: Is Everything Included, or are there Extra Charges?
A: Costs May Vary Depending On Your Event.
No additional charges for setups or tear downs, and we'll act as MC for the same price and include basic lighting with each job for free.

We will provide you with a quote for basic services based on the number of hours DJ will be at your event, and also provide several upgrade options you may wish to choose. We don't typically have any travel fees because so we do have DJs in a wide range of locations. Chances are that we have a DJ who will not need to travel far, for your party event.

  • $75 Party Games includes six to eight party prizes awarded for winners of Limbo Rock, Hula Hoop Contest, Musical Chairs and Twist Contest.
  • $250 Advanced Lighting System consists of 5 extra lights, including a Starball,  emitting tiny spots of white light that circulate around the room. Quite romantic for those special slow dances. Also we'll include a large laser light,  shooting fat beams of light, that quickly dart around the room to the beat with  the music.
  • $250 Bose Subwoofer /Spotlight Combo: Our large 75 pound bass subwoofer (from Bose  industrial products), is combined with our FS1000 professional spotlight and  add a 'splash' of celebrity and really brighten up your event during party  introductions and for use when you come out on the dance floor. Choose traditional light white, or any one of our  selection of vibrant colors. The Bose Subwoofer, is for  incredible deep bass sound added to give your party a 'soulful' boost.
  • $295 Special Memories Presentation, takes your guests on a stroll down memory lane,  with our Epson Powerlight 1700 Multimedia Projector Boasts 200 Lumens for  amazing brightness, and sharp vibrant images, projected onto our portable  projection screen with 65 to 85 inches of diagonal viewing pleasure. We also include a Dell laptop computer to connect to the projector to give your  presentation a wonderful celebration.
